This past Saturday, May 19, the Perma-Seal Tribe teamed up with a local organization, Global Hope, and helped out at a community service project at the Downers Grove Ray Graham House. We met up for carpentry repair work, yard clean up, added a fresh coat of paint to the living quarters or anything else we could lend a helping hand with.
The Ray Graham Association has been empowering people with disabilities throughout DuPage County for over 60 years. Their mission is “dedicated to the full participation of all people with developmental disabilities in a quality life by providing leadership that supports the accomplishments of individuals, strengthens families and inspires community involvement”.
Perma-Seal and Global Hope became aware of a Ray Graham-sponsored home right here in Downers Grove and its need for some TLC. And TLC, hard work, tireless giving and enormous hearts are what we are all about! We accomplished so much in 8.5 hours and we received an overwhelming response of gratitude from the when they came home to a clean, freshly painted, newly landscaped home. They were so grateful for all of our kindness and contribution.
We would personally like to thank everyone who participated at the Ray Graham House last Saturday for their time and efforts. The makeover was a huge success and we are looking forward to the next time we can contribute to making the world a better place!
